It's Monday!! Yippee (I'm secretly trying to trick myself into thinking that I'm happy about the weekend being over. Shhhh... don't tell me)!!! At least it times for FMM.

Movie Questions

1) What is your favorite movie? I can't pick just one. I refuse.

2) If you could trade lives with an actor or actress for one day, who would you choose?  And why? Anne Hathaway. Because she's gorgeous and funny and nice and everyone likes her.

3) Who is your favorite actor/actress? I love Audrey Tautou and Mark Alan Ruffalo.

p.s. Only one more day to enter our giveaway (it ends March 1st at 12:00pm est). You know you want to WIN!!

Top 2 Things you've learned from your parents or grandparents

1. LOVE EVERYONE, especially your spouse. My grandparents are the kindest people ever. They are amazing at seeing the good in everyone and ignoring the bad. They love each other more than any couple I've ever meet. You can still see it in their eyes when they look at each other, even after all these years. They teach me the beauty and importance of love.

2. LIFE ISN'T FAIR. Being a Libra I'm constantly looking for balance, thus I notice when things aren't 'fair' way more than I should. All throughout my growing up years my parents would combat my tantrums with, ' life isn't fair'. I hated them for that. But I get it now and I'm grateful.

Friday Fragments

Friday, January 14, 2011

Honestly time: have quite a few deadlines early next week and don't feel like working on any of them. Been putting off working all day. Only answering emails and blog hopping. It's not good. I need to get to work or I'll be pulling some LONG nights...

Eating salsa with cut up avocado. It's yummy! The only thing I've eaten all day. Gained a couple pounds back the last few days. Probably shouldn't be eating avocado, isn't it fatty?? Blah...

Florida is the only state that hasn't had snow this week. It SUCKS!!! I want to make snow men and yummy snow treats too.

Today is Friday. Like most people I enjoy Fridays because it means the weekend is coming. I like the weekend. Decided that Sunday is my favorite day of the week. So relaxing and spirit filled. It's the only day that I don't work or even check my email. (But of course I love my job. I was just thinking about how lucky I am to work from home and do something that I love.)

Hubby's working late tonight. He had some cases to finish up. At least he called me. I miss him. I wonder what we will do for dinner. We have all this food in our cupboards that needs cooked so we haven't been grocery shopping much this year, trying to get rid of that food and not waste it. I think we'll go out tonight though. Total cop-out, yes.

My Grandma called a couple days ago. That was exciting! I always like hearing from her. I miss her, and the rest of my fam., so very very much.

Alright that's about it. This has been another exciting episode of Friday Fragments brought to you by Half-past Kissin' Time.

Friday Fragment

Friday, December 10, 2010

Today is Friday. That means tomorrow is Saturday and then Sunday. Yep, that's how it works - wonderful huh? Hubby works from home one day a week now. This week it was the wrong day which totally screwed up my inner calender. It SO does not feel like Friday, hence the mess of words above. If I type it it might feel real.

Speaking of feeling real. I feel so weird lately. Okay for that wasn't really a speaking of was it?? Who knows.

Still working. Still loving my job.Been slacking in the blogging department lately. I never have anything amazing to report and nothing at all ever happens to me. Still no baby in site. Still trying not to think about that but rather count the other blessing I have.

Love when Hubby works from home. We are both just sitting there across from each other doing our own thing on our own computers but we are THERE and it feels different, I can see him, sneak over and kiss him. I'm a fan. So much so that I would go as far to say that I wished he could work from home everyday!

Anyone know of a good Holiday book I could read? I have this tradition of reading one holiday book every season and I need ideas of which to choose this time.

Keep having dreams lately. Not bad ones. Just weird bits and pieces ones that make no sense. Most of them include my brothers new wife. Some include my cousins. I wonder why we dream. They are so mysterious aren't they? Gotta love that.

I've been thinking lately. One of the things that attracted me to Hubby was the mystery of him. He was completely different that any man I had ever meet and I wanted to figure him out. He was my "bad" boy I suppose you could say.

Back to the blog slacking. I haven't had a new follower in a LONG LONG time. Seriously, it's been months and it makes me sad. I know I haven't done the work so I don't deserve the reward but if anyone wants to make my day please please follow me!!

Alright that's about all I've got. To view more fragments and participate please visit Half-Past Kissin' Time.

Fill in the Blank Friday

Friday, October 15, 2010

1. Blogging is my therapy, entertainment and the source of my income.

2. A current fashion trend I wish I was brave enough to wear is the following coat and oversized bag...

3. My greatest accomplishment in life thus far is marrying the man of my dreams!

4. If I had to choose between a mountain or a beach vacation I'd choose moutain vacation since I just went to the beach. Both are great thought!

5. A talent I wish I had is IT work - I want to learn so I can do it on my own and I won't have to bug someone else to help me .

6. A talent I do have is web design and being a great wife (it's a talent I tell ya)!

7. This week is almost over which means one more week crossed off the countdown to AZ.

I lost 50lbs - Friend Makin' Monday!

Monday, September 20, 2010

Today's topic is Health and Body Image:

 1) If you could magically change one thing about your body, what would it be? Nothing. I don't have a 'perfect' body, but I believe God made me the way I am and I'm happy with it. (well.. perhaps..if you wouldn't mind... my size)

2) What is your best physical feature? My eyes. They are small but they are a pretty shade of green and I get lots of complements on them.

3) Do you weigh yourself daily? Hourly? Weekly? Bi-weekly? Never? When I'm "dieting" I weigh everyday. Otherwise maybe once every few weeks.

4) Do you workout regularly? If so, how does if affect you from day to day? No, I don't. Sometimes I swim but that's about it.

5) What is the healthiest thing you do for yourself on a regular basis? Like Kenlie, I also drink lot's of water. It makes such a difference. I'm also working on my emotional eating and portion control.

6) If you could look like a celebrity, who would you choose to look like? I've honestly never thought about this.Growing up I wanted to look like either my friend VeeAnn or my friend Kaitlyn - but I got ever that.

7) What do you do to make yourself feel pretty/handsome? Pluck my eyebrows and paint my toe nails.Simple things.

8) What are you most attracted to in the opposite sex? I have a thing for dark hair and sideburns.

9) Have you ever avoided situations because you didn't want people to see your body shape? Yes.

10) How do you feel about your overall appearance? I'm fat. My head is too small for my body. I'm much taller and larger than my husband. My husband has a better fashion sense than I do. All of these things could be better but what's life without some daily trails and humor? Honestly life is good and I actually lost 50lbs over this past year, so I'm very pleased with myself at the moment.

Friend Makin' Monday

Monday, September 13, 2010

Friend Makin' Monday is back and hosted by Kenlie from All the Weigh. Yip-yip-yippie!!!!! This week's topic is: Five Little Questions and although I'm not really feeling the questions (not feeling very good in general) I just have to participate because I'm so stinking excited the FMM is back and that I found it!

1) What was the most enjoyable part of your weekend? Grape soda and Gilmore Girls. TOTAL simple BLISS.

2) List two or three material possessions that you can't live without: Computer, TV + Gilmore Girls.

3) Which day are you looking forward to most in the coming week? Saturday. Hubby's football team has a week off so he's taking me out :)

4) Share one of your most embarrassing stories. I don't like to think about these - sorry.

5) List three of your "must-read" blogs and tell us why we should read them too! I can't pick only three (told ya I'm not feeling it) so here is list of a bunch!!

Got my MOXIE back!

Friday, September 10, 2010

Hubby and I were finally able to execute the beach vacation we've been trying to plan. Didn't mention anything here on my blog because I didn't want to jinx it. Must have been a good plan because it worked. Yay!! The beach was so much fun, so relaxing and rejuvenating. Everything I wanted it to be.

Back to real life was surprisingly not-so-bad. It felt GOOD to be home - which was really weird considering how "sick and tired of being at home all day" I was before the trip. I've caught up with most everything (with ease, I might add. So needed a little break!) AND I was even inspired to redesign this blog. Take a look around (if you are reading this in a reader click through) and tell me what you think. It's the most "me" of any designs thus far and I LOVE IT!!!

Been having these random "I look pretty" moments when passing by a mirror. These are far and few-in- between as I get older so I'm trying to cherish them.  I think I might die my hair again, humm... Oh the giveaway for a new blog design is still going on, enter if you haven't!

Today I'm linking to Feel Good Friday and  Friday Fragments. Have a great FRIDAY!!!

Fill in the Blank Friday from the little things we do...

Humm... I don't like shoes much, but I'll says a pair of red flip-flops.

3. My preferred mode of digital communication is...

6. The one modern convenience I could NOT do without is...
I need it all man.

Mommy's Idea

I love fragmenting! It's practically my blogging style, just look at my last post for proof. So here I go again, click the button to play along.

I get to teach ten 3-4 year old's for 2 hours during church this Sunday. Last time I did it, it went really well for the first 90 minutes but then all heck let loss. I'm hoping I can keep them entertained better for that last 30 minutes this time. BUBBLES I've decided might work. Anyone have any other ideas?

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! STOP!!!!!!!! I'm going crazy here today. They've been testing fire alarms all morning. That and the stupid 'backing up' beeping of the stupid little carts they use to drive two feet to the next apartment are getting very very old. I can't wait to get a house.

My sister gets here in 4 days. I have SO MUCH to do before then. Trying to finish up four blog designs in the next few days. Need to deep clean the whole apartment. Need to buy things. Need to make a list. I hope she still likes me and has fun here. Kinda nervous but super excited!

I need to start exercising again. Want to go swimming but it always seems to rain right before I want to go. Can't find the cable remote to work out to TV either. Insert third lame excuse here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love my job. I'm so blessed that I can stay at home and make money. I get to meet amazing woman and use my creativity. I've added some new designs to my portfolio if you want to see what I've been up to. I've decided to charge more for WordPress designs. Most all designers do it and honestly WordPress is so much harder so it makes sense. We'll see how it goes.

Our shower curtain fell down a few days ago. Hubby and I were sleeping away and we are awakened by this huge "CRASH" and the screams of each other. It was terrifying (but a little funny looking back at it). The curtain still sits on the ground. I don't want that to happen ever again. Hubby suggested super gluing it but since we live in an apartment I don't think that would be wise. I can't wait to get a house. Humm... I think I added a theme here although totally unintentional. Have a great day!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Friday, May 14, 2010

1. The very best thing about the summer is swimming. If it wasn't for swimming I would die.

2. My first crush ever was Adam M. It was in third grade. I remember sitting on the sidewalk watching him play soccer with the Missionaries and thinking that one day I wanted a boy like that. (He and my Hubby are quite similar actually...)

3. This may sound really silly but… I'm dyeing my hair right now. 5 more minutes and it's time to rinse.

4. I squeeze my toothpaste the middle. But then I push it all to to front after I replace the lid.

5. My absolute favourite "comfort food" is ice-cream and green chilli burritos (but not together). YUM!!

6. A random fact about me is that I'm kinda sad today because I can't be in AZ tonight to witness my brothers wedding. But congrats bro, all the best!

7. The one piece of technology that truly makes my life better and I couldn't live without is ... humm... I'm super reliant on my computer, laptop and internet connection - they're practically my whole life, income included - but I think I might possible be able to LIVE without them.

It's Finally Friday!!!

Friday, April 23, 2010

Today I feel good because I have a fresh cut-up pineapple waiting for me in the fridge... and ham and eggs - my new favorite. Today I feel good because Wed. night I bought myself Sims 3. I saved $10 (and shipping) by purchasing the instant download. Then I played it all day yesterday ignoring my forgetful trip to the grocery store the day before (and some of my work - opps, don't tell). Today I feel good because Hubby loves me - when he came home from work we went shopping together :)

And lastly I feel good today because of music! I LOVE the stuff.
1. One song that always takes me back to my youth is "When She Smiles" by Matchbox 20.

2. My first ever concert was non-existence. Yep, I've never been to a real concert.

3. If I could create my dream music festival I'd want these bands to be there: Brand New, Braid, Jack Johnson, Iron & Wine, Five for Fighting, Augustana, Bright Eyes, Motion City Soundtrack, Taking Back Sunday, The Lucksmiths, Last Days of April, The Starting Line, Jack's Mannequin, The Weepies, The Academy Is, Rosie Thomas, Yellowcard, Travis... it would be a very long festival.

4. The best make-out/"boot knocking" song ever is "Wandering Star" or "All Mine" by Portishead. "Love Songs on The Radio" by Mojave 3. "Be My Angel" by Massy Star. "In The Areoplane Over The Sea" by Matt Pond PA. "Yellow" by Coldplay. "A Love Song" by Syd.

5. The best concert I've ever been to was n/a.

6. A memorable music moment for me was in Idaho when I would go driving in circles playing "Letter to You" By Finch as loud as I could while screaming it at the top of my lungs. When my brother and I where in his car listening to "The Quite Things That No One Ever Knows" by Brand New. When my other brother, sister and mother where all in Utah, playing cards and singing along to Jack Johnson songs. When my Husband would send me songs to download that made me fall in love with him. I could go on forever because practically all of my memories involve music.

7. The song on my ipod that's getting the most plays these days is "Superman" by Five For Fighting. "Jesus Christ" by Brand New. "I Never Said That I Was Brave" by mewithoutyou. "Sweet and Low" by Augustana.

Fill in the Blank Friday

Friday, March 12, 2010

1. The best day ever was
my 20th birthday. Beautiful sunset beach french kisses with Hubby and amazing acoustic music dedications.

2. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast because it's the easiest to make .

3. This weekend
I have to work and rest as much as possible.

4. Never in my life have I died. hehe!

5. The only thing better than grape soda is drinking grape soda in bed while watching Gilmore Girls.

6. I could really do with some dinner. I'm hungry but too lazy/busy to cook anything. Plus everthing we have sounds gross.

7. The most recent thing I bought myself was
a clock for my wall. It was on sale for 75% off. It has a black frame and the words "families are forever" written on it, kinda vintage looking... I like it.

HAVE A SUNNY WEEKEND!

Flippy Friday

Friday, March 5, 2010

Followers and Friends, it's Finally Friday!!! In celebration of this fun day I wanted to write a post with only word that started with F. But I quickly realized how Freakin' impossible that would be and give up almost as quickly as the idea occurred to me. So instead I'm going to stick with something I'm good at - lists.

Five Fab thing that begin with F:

1. Food
2. Furniture
3. Friends
4. Family
5. Flowers

In no particular order of course. Happy Friday!! I'm once again participating in Feel Good Friday and Friday Follow , Feel Free to join in the Fun.

Friend Makin Monday - My style

Monday, March 1, 2010

Today at Friend Makin' Monday we are determining interior design style via Sproost. I took the test 10 times and got totally different results each time. It's terribly inaccurate or I'm a terrible test taker. I'm leaning towards the later, but I did have fun.

My last attempt seemed to be the most accurate (I took more time with each picture, answering more carefully). 50/50 Cottage Chic and Traditional Country. It's pretty perfect because my dream living room and kitchen look like the traditional country picture and my bedrooms and bathrooms look like the cottage chic picture.

50% Cottage Chic
50% Traditional Cou
ntry

Traditional Country

Even if your backyard isn't acres of farmland and you don't actually have a chicken coop, your house sure brings you back to a time when that was the case. You love spaces that feel casual and lived in. Furniture is practical and comfortable, and yet at th
e same time its very stylish. The best part of country style is how much it highlights collection and found objects. Antiques here, garage sale finds there and Aunt Milly's hand-me-downs throughout. Unique items that used to serve very practical purposes are now on display, and their history seems to permeate the home. Each space in the home seems to invite friends and family to come in and stay a while. There is a true sense of home felt throughout.

Materials

When it comes to materials in Traditional Country homes, think rustic, warm and comfortable. Wood or natural tile floors, natural or painted wood tables and chairs, and natural materials on the soft furnishings. Stripes, plaids and florals are popular and often all are mixed in one room. Soft vintage leather and suede are common and wrought and rusty iron also reinforce the rustic nature of the rooms. Large wood pieces of furniture are very common, and help manage storage throughout the home. Wallpaper is very popular and most often highlights floral patterns. For traditional country, the concept of minimalism is avoided at all cost. It's the collections that give the space character and reinforce the lived-in nature of the spaces.

Colors

For color, spaces can go either bright and airy or soft and muted. Think of the countryside in spring and summer with yellows, bright greens and blues. Or you can go for more of a fall country day, and go a bit darker but still stay in the earth tones. Dark browns, reds and greens. Either direction you go in, be it light or dark, the key is warmth. Traditional country rooms rarely, if ever, feel cold.

Cottage Chic

Who says that cottages can't be modern and chic? Who says that they have to be floral and cheesy? Not you! You love the carefree spirit that the cottage interior inspires, but you are also serious about your appreciation for modern art and hip treasures. You love old and new alike, and love to highlight them all to expose the uniqueness of each. What better way to show off these treasures than with a light background?

Materials

You have a great sense of humor when it comes to design and even like to make fun of the style itself. Which means that you will throw in a toy boat or a vintage life preserver to keep the mood of the place just like the color: light! The fabrics are natural (cottons and linens) and are light in touch. Much of the furniture is wood or wood framed (the lighter the better, think driftwood!) and as long as it's used sparingly or with modern lines, you even throw in a wicker piece here and there.

Colors

Your true inspiration (whether you know it or not) is the sea... the colors found at your favorite beach: white and light beige of the sand, a variety of blues for the ocean and sky, and greens and pale grays of the sea glass... but the key is white! Your space should feel light and airy and give off the mood one has when at the beach: laid back! The key with Cottage Chic is balance; in one corner there could be a rustic wood table that looks like it could have been found rather than made, but it is offset with a modern vase while another corner is adorned with a modern Lucite piece.

Space Planning

The furniture is comfortable and the layout is cozy. The more it encourages intimate gatherings the better! Just watch out for the red wine spills on the new white sofa! The color throughout is light and airy - and though you love to accessorize with fun colors (the sky's the limit with a white background), the main color seen and felt throughout the house is white or very light versions of colors so that they feel almost white.

What's your style?

Silver Lining aka: random good stuff

Thursday, February 25, 2010

I added a facebook widget to my sidebar over there. I have one fan (thanks Nikole - love ya!) let's make it more okay? Thanks thanks!! I'm also working on other ways to promote my blog and business. If you have any ideas let me know. I'm going to be better at commenting, following and reply back to all my wonderful blog followers too so watch out for that!!

I got a baby plant for Valentines day, I potted it and water it and everything. It's still alive and has gotten a bit bigger!! It's dumb but I love my little plant.

Hubby is so great.
This week hasn't been so good (some of you may have read the pitty post I deleted, sorry about that) but when I look at my husband and feel his touch I know everything will be okay.

I got bombarded with emails and orders today, just after I agreed to a tight deadline for a big client. I'll make it work somehow and am thrilled with the added business!!

I didn't post on Wednesday and I missed hearing from all of you. My in real life friends don't 'get it' but you guys are my friends too. I usually post on Wednesday. Every time I say Wednesday in my head I always say it how it's spelled wed-nes-day. Haha, does anyone else do that? It is a funny word isn't it. Wow am I strange.

If anyone's still reading at this point please smile out loud because you are loved (or because I'm done, either way).

Update 2/26: I'm participating in Feel Good Friday, Friday Fragments and Friday Follow today!!
