Working out did not work out

Thursday, June 18, 2009

"You should start working out Katie. It makes you feel so accomplished and invigorated." So I did it. I got my lazy butt off of my beloved computer chair and off to the gym.

---------- It wasn't long before I started asking, "What pills was she on?!" All I felt was pathetic.

I did the stair steeper tread mill thing. I didn't (and still don't) know it's name. I was on it for five minutes. I had to stop for a small breather every 60 sec. or I would have died. When I started back up after my breather I always petaled the wrong way.

Then I wobbled my way to the pool and got in it taking ity bitty baby steps. My legs felt like jello. I swam two laps which took me about an hour, (I'm a slow swimmer on a normal day).

In the morning I woke up and could not move my right leg. I had to heave and hoe just to swing it off the edge. Then I rolled the rest of my body to the edge and with all my weight I was able to lay me foot flat on the floor and walk. I'm surprised I didn't collapse.

Now I am writing a post about this experience. If I were one of those "funny" people, you would all be rolling around on the ground with laughter. But instead you are shaking your head and thinking, "Oh Katie, nice try."

I think I'll go back tomorrow.

I thought it was pretty funny....but not in a ha ha you're in pain way. I can just really relate. I go through phases where I get on a working out kick..... and the first couple of days are the same for me. So, I can totally relate. :)

Don't do it Katie. They lull you in with these exercises. Never a good idea.
