Just a little rant, because it's raining.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Friday afternoon I had an idea: go with Hubby on a spontaneous trip to the beach and treat him to beautiful hotel room overlooking the ocean. When he got home I excitedly told him of my plans and offered to help him pack.

"I'm tired. Not really feeling the drive right now." POP!! Went my happy bubble. I wanted to offer to drive but knew he would get car sick which wouldn't be fun so I just gave up and sulked to our bedroom. It was then that I realized I wanted to go for me more than for him.

Oops.

I'm still in a sad funk about my family leaving. My sister was here for two months and she BELONGED - you know? It's like something, someone, is missing in our home now and it sucks. I'm trying, and most days I'm fine, but it sucks.

I AM SICK OF SEATTLE (Well Florida actually, but it works with the song).

Anyone have any ideas to cheer myself up and move on? Something besides spontaneousness? Any ideas would be appreciated. Also I'm back full swing in the blogging world! Leave me a comment if you are new here and I'll be sure to visit you, I need some more blogging friends :)

Hi! I'm new(ish) here. I'm sorry you're so down. I know one of the things that always cheers me up is just getting out of the house, usually going for walks. Particularly if there is a nice park or nature trail somewhere near you. Hope this helps. Feel free to come by and check out my blog.

Aw, what a bummer! I've been there though, sometimes I have these great ideas for my husband, only to find out he's not as excited about it as I was. Like you said though, then I realize it was more for me than for him :)
Well, one thing you can be happy about is that you have a new follower... ME!!! :)
I look forward to getting to know you better!

I too have been in a funk. I think a change in the season will help. I am so over HOT.

Awww foo, that is too bad. Go to sea-band.com and get your hubby those for his carsickness then surprise him again. :) hehee. Otherwise, chocolate and shopping sprees are always nice too!

Yes-- put on a Glee soundtrack, blast at full volume, and dance your blues away. And chocolate-- definitely chocolate!

Found you via SITS! Come see me, too, at www.funnyisthenewyoung.com! I'm pouring Margaritas!

My step-daughter just left after a 2 month stay (her mom lives in San Diego, we are in WA state)...we get so used to having her here and then have to completely readjust when she leaves. So I know how you feel. I LOVE the idea about blasting Glee. Music always helps. :)

I hear ya. We just left my family and may not see them for another year. It's tough and I completely understand! I'll share my box of tissue and chocolate with you :)

Aw, sorry you're bummed! I think the beach trip would have been a good change of scenery actually. Can you do it in a less-spontaneous fashion?

Check out my blog. You've been tagged! http://yellowhouseknits.blogspot.com/
