Roses and a lesson

Monday, February 9, 2009

A dozen long steamed red roses with babies breath. Every girl dreams of this day and mine has come.

Yes it's true, my husband got me roses for our anniversary. It was so romantic and sweet and thoughtful. I didn't ask him to do it or even hint at it. He did it all on his own just like I prayed he would. I love my flowers. I smile every time I see them. I smell each one individually; I can tell you which is the best and which has no fragrance at all.

My favorite part about getting roses is that I got them. I've been there done that. Hubby has proved to me that he can be perfect. I'm over it now. It was wonderful. But my world didn't change, I heard no "hallelujah" choirs.

I realize that I don't need to get roses for every occasion, or any occasion, from now on. I think money should be spent in a more appropriate manner. I adore the gesture, I'll remember this forever, but I'll also ask him not to do it again.

Roses and a life lesson. A great anniversary indeed.
